Via the centrality of music and in particular the 12″ single, I seek to question notions relating to specificity, materiality and place. A focus on the tangible forms of vinyl is in part fuelled by the exponential development of new technologies and although I would not consider myself an absolute vinyl purist, I can’t help but respond to the phenomenal shift that has taken place in terms of how we access, consume, use, and most importantly, listen to music. As a result my practice traverses approaches and media, including, but not restricted to: collecting, photography, sound recording, text and the dissemination of printed media. Much of this work is ongoing in nature and is frequently in response to the accumulation of personal experiences and thoughts.
